Being alone doesn’t mean being lonely

Reminder: being alone doesn’t mean being lonely. Practice social distance, but not social avoidance.

As we start the lockdown experience in California of being with family 24 hours, and some of us alone. Make sure you are being alone doesn’t turn into being lonely. Read books, watch TV, write a book, teach a class, enroll in an online class. Take a walk outside your home (6 feet). Be productive around the house. Make your phone calls and connect with other family members and friends. Check on your elderly parent or neighbor. Exercise. Let me put it this way: Practice social distance but not social avoidance.
